small mobile unitsI read an article about Mayor Bloomberg’s trip to London this week to observe the “Ring of Steel” video surveillance system in operation. This comes on the heels of a decision to spend 200 million dollars to buy 3000 high end video analytic smart cameras for Lower Manhatten. In addition, the Sunday front page of the Arizona Daily Star has an article about a mobile video surveillance system that is used on the border to help keep it secure. It works using motion detection, daytime cameras and thermal night time cameras with GPS to help track illegal border traffic. Another 35 to 40 units are on order because it is one of the few ideas on the border issue that actually works.

Not everyone agrees that having these advanced security measures is exactly what made America free and great. But it does show the reality of the world we live in and what we have to do to try and protect ourselves from the bad people who want to do us harm. If that explosive device had gone off in Times Square, there would have been a panic. I don’t really believe that the average American begrudges a poor hispanic person from wanting to work to support their family if they would just go back to their country of origin or put in the effort to become a legal citizen. But the problem is if they are getting through, who or what else is getting through?

The moral of this story is to remain vigilant, and be grateful that we have the Military, the Border Patrol and the first responders who have the tools and gumption to try and keep us safe. It’s a different world that we live in, but with common sense and advanced technology I think we can keep each other safe.

Let me know what you think.

Press Release

Tucson, Arizona May 12, 2010 For Immediate Release

Moore Security Solutions Opens the First Innovative Security Solutions Concept Store

Rick Moore, President of Moore Security Solutions in Tucson, Arizona, has announced the opening of a new concept store for personal, residential and commercial security solutions.

The security industry is a billion dollar industry with most distribution levels coming from the internet, catalogs, direct sales and trade shows. Moore Security Solutions has developed a new concept store that will provide a hands on, personalized approach to viewing, testing and purchasing the ideal security solution for every situation.

“There is nothing like this concept store,” says Moore, “and we are looking forward to educating the consumer about security solutions for every application and demonstrating how these high tech systems work. There is no other way the consumer can get this kind of hands on experience.”

The showroom will have areas set up for personal security products, home security systems and applications for small to large commercial solutions.  The consumer will be able to view actual cameras and monitors for quality and definition.

The security solutions industry is growing at 15% – 20% a year and will continue to grow as people are more concerned with personal and property safety.  There are numerous case studies that have proven that video surveillance systems not only protect property, but have assisted in the apprehension of vandals, thieves and felons.

Moore Security Solutions has been in operation in the Tucson community since 1999 selling and professionally installing residential security systems, small and large commercial and retail systems, and intrusion and video surveillance systems.

Rick Moore and his team of professionals are licensed, certified and bonded in the State of Arizona to install security systems.

A $1000 Honeywell home security system that will include a control panel with key pad, three door/window contacts, wireless motion detector, back up battery, yard signs, decals and professional installation will be given away on Saturday, June 5th at 5pm. There will be five personal protection devices given away each day throughout the grand opening week of June 1st – June 5th. People can participate by stopping by the showroom at 5608 East Broadway and entering the drawing in person.
